How to try it

Set a bowl on a kitchen scale, press zero, and let your child spoon in flour until the number on the display matches the recipe. Read the number together and say when to stop. Then you take over the heat and the pan.

Materials

  • Kitchen scale with a digital display
  • Bowl
  • Flour
  • Spoon

Safety note

An adult handles the stove, hot pan, and any knives, and keeps your child away from the heat. Have your child stand on a stable step stool, not a chair, and stay beside them. Raw flour is not safe to taste, so wash hands after, and wipe up spills so the floor is not slippery.
