How to try it

Put a favorite toy in a shoebox while your toddler watches, and set the lid loosely on top. Help them lift the lid to find it, then close and try again. Make the lid easier or harder to lift as they grow.

Materials

  • Shoebox with a loose lid
  • A toy bigger than a toilet-paper tube

Safety note

Check the box for staples and sharp edges, use a toy bigger than a toilet-paper tube, and stay within arm's reach.
