How to try it

Half-fill small, thick plastic bottles with large dry pasta, then glue and tape the lids shut. Give each child a shaker and march around the room in a line, or bounce on a lap for children who are not walking yet, taking turns to lead and shaking loudly then quietly.

Materials

  • Small thick plastic bottles
  • Large dry pasta
  • Strong glue
  • Strong tape

Safety note

Pasta that fits through a bottle neck is smaller than a toilet-paper tube, so it is a choking risk if a bottle opens. Glue and tape each lid, check it before every use, supervise, and throw the shaker away at the first crack or loose lid.
