How to try it

When your baby is awake and alert, hold them 8 to 12 inches from your face and wait. When they widen their eyes, open their mouth, or frown, make the same face back and name it softly, like \"Big eyes!\" Let them lead, and stop when they look away.

Materials

No special materials listed.

Safety note

Do this while your baby is awake and you are with them. If they lie down, use a flat surface on the floor, not a bed or sofa. When they get sleepy, put them down on their back in their own crib or bassinet, on a firm, flat surface with nothing else in it.
